Call for papers

 

"THE YOUNG TEACHERS OF THE FUTURE DISCUSS TEACHING PROFESSION AT MALTEPE UNIVERSITY BY FACULTY OF EDUCATION"

2-3 May 2013

The education Students Local Organizing Committee at Maltepe University is delighted to announce the opening of the call for papers for the ‘The young teachers of the future discuss teaching profession at maltepe üniversity by faculty of education’ undergraduate students conference to be held at Maltepe University on 2-3 May 2013.

We welcome submission for individual papers and panel proposals that should be addressing, but not limited to

 

  1. Problems and suggested solutions which teacher candidates face
  2. Career expectations of candidate teachers
  3. Expectations from teachers of the future
  4. The role of student clubs and social responsibility projects in preparing teacher candidates for the future
  5. Opinions of teachers and teacher candidates about different and alternative educational models
  6. New approaches in different teaching fields (foreign language education, mathematic education, preschool education, special education, computer education etc.)
  7. Guidance services in schools and new approaches
  8. Opinions of  teacher candidates about teacher education
Abstracts can be submitted via e-mail to iesc@maltepe.edu.tr by 29 March 2013  and contain a clear outline of the argument, theoretical framework, methodology and results.

The text of the abstracts should be submitted in a separate in English ONLY, in a Word document in the following format: max. 500 words, single spaced Times New Roman 12-point font (except for title which should be Times New Roman 14-point font), A4 size page formatting, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

 

Panel proposals should consist of five individual contributions, combining a panel abstract with five individual abstracts of max. 500 words each ( 5 x 500 for individual abstracts, plus 500 for the panel’s abstract)

 

We encourage lecturers, teachers and professors to circulate this call widely across your undergraduate students, as this will be a unique occasion to visit the city of Istanbul. Participating students will be joining fellow students from Turkey and across the world to debate the raising issues in the area of The young teachers of the future discuss teaching profession at maltepe üniversity by faculty of education in a conference organized by students for students, with the support of staff at Maltepe University’s Faculty of  education.

PS.:  There is NO Registration Fee!  Participants attending the conference will be hosted by Maltepe University at our 5-star Marma Congress Centre (www.marmakongremerkezi.com).  Participants will only have to pay their travel expenses which will be at a discounted rate with the courtesy of Turkish Airlines, the best airline in Europe in 2012 .  All other expenses will be provided by Maltepe University!
